Apple Messages for Business

A verified brand in the Messages app.

Authentication and approval inside a conversation that carries your registered business identity — in the app iPhone customers already use.

Can Apple Messages for Business be used for authentication?

Yes. An Apple-approved business can run a verified conversation in the native Messages app and use it to confirm a sign-in, verify an identity or approve a specific action with structured prompts instead of a typed code. Assure's support for the channel is in development and not available yet.

What the channel can carry

More than a code delivery route.

Each of these is a capability of the Apple platform. Assure's use of them is in development and not available yet.

Verified business identity

The conversation carries your brand name and logo in the native Messages app, so the customer can see who is asking before they act.

Authentication flows

A sign-in or verification request the customer completes inside the thread instead of copying a code between apps.

Rich, structured messages

List pickers, time pickers, forms and buttons, so an approval is a tap rather than free text.

Secure customer conversations

Account-related requests stay in one identifiable thread the customer can scroll back through.

Apple Pay

Where a business supports it, payment can be completed in the conversation rather than sending the customer elsewhere.

Wallet and passes

Deliver a pass or credential into Wallet as part of a flow the customer has already been authenticated for.

App Clips

Hand off to a lightweight piece of your app without an install, where Apple supports it.

Human escalation

Move from an automated request to a person with the context of the conversation intact.

Enterprise messaging integration

Route conversations into the systems your service teams already work in, including Service Cloud style contact-centre tooling.

Requirements and limits

What has to be true first.

Apple approval is required

A business must be registered and approved for Apple Messages for Business before any conversation can happen. Approval is Apple's decision, not ours.

iPhone and iPad only

The experience exists in Apple's Messages app. Customers on other platforms need a different channel, and Assure is designed to fall back automatically.

Entry points matter

Customers reach these conversations through defined entry points — your site, your app, a search result, a scanned code. They are not opened by sending an unsolicited message.

Assure claims no Apple partnership, endorsement or certification.
