WhatsApp

Verification in the app they open every day.

Authentication templates, interactive approvals and a business identity the customer can check — on the messaging app much of the world already lives in.

Can WhatsApp be used for authentication?

Yes. WhatsApp has a dedicated authentication message category for one-time codes, with in-app code handling and interactive buttons, provided the business has an approved template and the customer's opt-in. Assure's WhatsApp delivery is in development and not available yet.

What the channel can carry

Authentication, and more than authentication.

Statuses are per capability. Nothing here is in production yet.

Authentication templates

WhatsApp supports a dedicated authentication message category for one-time codes, with copy-code handling built into the app.

Rich, interactive messages

Buttons and structured replies turn an approval into a tap instead of a typed response.

Global reach

For many customers outside the United States, WhatsApp is the messaging app they actually use every day.

Customer verification

Confirm an identity or a specific action in a thread with a business identity the customer can inspect.

Voice-based verification

Voice experiences on WhatsApp are a directional future capability, not something Assure is building today.

Requirements and limits

What has to be true first.

Templates need approval

Message templates, including authentication templates, are reviewed and approved by WhatsApp before they can be sent. Approval is not ours to grant.

Opt-in is required

A business must have the customer's opt-in for the number it messages, with a clear statement of who is sending and why.

Pricing and availability vary

WhatsApp's own pricing and feature availability differ by country and message category, so cost comparisons depend on where your customers are.

Assure claims no Meta or WhatsApp partnership, endorsement or certification.
